I've said it before and i will say it again, highlighter is having it moment and i couldn't be more happy to make myself look like the tin man. With so many lovely products on the market it is easy to get carried away when in reality how many highlighters do you really need. Now that i've made my love for the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter very well known, it has stopped me from speaking about another highlighter i treated myself to recently which is the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Indiscretion.
Laura Mercier is a brand which is very well known for its tinted moisturiser and translucent powder and for good reason they are amazing products however everything else from the brand is overlooked. The prices compare to Nars and some of your more high end products but they don't have the same popularity so none of it stands out. Having tried two of their Lip Parfaits last year i liked them but i didn't love them and i won't be buying more. However when i saw their highlighter range i knew i had to have one. They are all over Instagram at the moment and they are just the most gorgeous looking product.
They have 4 different shades Devotion, a pearlescent pink which would look beautiful on those with very pale skin, Addition a gold shade more reminiscent of Prosecco Pop but with a more golden tone to it. Then there is Seduction which would be beautiful for women with darker skin but is way to dark for me and then Indiscretion, the shade i have, which is a rose gold shade. I landed on this one because it was completely different from any other highlighter i have.
The texture of the powder is very soft and it is very finely milled, you do not get any chunks of glitter from these. The colour is a lot more subtle than Champagne Pop which i like for everyday wear and this looks great with Autumn shades, your berry tones and browns. I am really impressed by the formula but at £32 it is quite expensive and for the same price you could buy the Becca highlight. Even though this is beautiful and if you like a more subtle look this is perfect; the Becca one just seems so much better valve in my mind. The packaging for the Becca one is heavy and luxurious whereas this one is quite grand but the plastic feels quite cheap and flimsy. Not comparing this to Champagne Pop, i do really like this and it leaves a very soft glow to the skin.
I do love this and i can see myself using it a lot and if you are a highlighter lover by all means go and check this out because they are amazing but if you are looking for something to equal Champagne Pop this isn't it.
