Garnier 2 in 1 Make-up Remover : A Review

Good evening (morning or afternoon - depending on where in the world this reaches you and when you have stumbled upon this introduction) ...

Let me not bog you down too much in the frivolities of my waffling banter, I'll put it plainly.

This makeup remover is very good and does what it's supposed to.

I say this from a place of experience. Unfortunately on several occasions I have encountered eye makeup removing products that should have never gone near my eyes (Olay I'm looking at you). I've tried expensive ones (Gatineau) , the homemade kind (Olive Oil) and others (ye shall not be named) and they've either burnt my eyes or not taken off enough eye makeup (although Gatineau I do love your smell and you are better than some, Olay I'm still glarring at you ... but Gatinuea your very expensive:( ...).

Garnier has beaten them all (especially on price).

That's why ... after much thought I decided to add my voice to those who simply adore this product. Now wait ... before you go running out to buy this product - realise that it has an oily feel (eww how nasty), yes it leaves an oily residue behind (gross I know right?) and ... get this you have to shake the product up before use (cumbersome or what!). See I knew you wouldn't be interested, you might as well just never buy it so  the shelves will be full all for me. Ok you got me (smirks) ... Personally I don't mind oily things (doesn't bother me one bit + its not that oily at all more siliconony yes I made up a word) and the only real problem I have with this product is the bottle cap (always manages to spill out product ... annoying).

So how did I find out about it? Was it from my sheer genius ... Hmm no. This product first came to my attention when A Model Recommends featured it in her 'Top Five Cheap Buys' like a total cheapskate I simple had to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It totally works and it doesn't sting my eyes (and my eyes are very sensitive).

Umm there's not much more to say ... it doesn't really have a scent, its inexpensive and its widely available in most stores (unlike Bioderma Crealine which I want to try). It does such a good job it is worthy of HG status (holy grail product i.e. a product that is effective and you will buy again and again - which I have).

Retail Price: £2.99 for 200ml (but does go on offer regularly) ... Simple.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Isopropyl Palmitate, Panthenol, Rosa Centifolia/Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Dipotassium Phosphate, Poloxamer 184, Polyamindopropyl Biguanide, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, CI 61565/Green 6.

*Update* 29/04/13 - Even though it has been gentle to my skin at times. I've found out that using this daily coupled with a foam wash really dries out my skin. When this product dries the oil evaporates and causes my skin to feel dry and itchy. However this might be due to the fact that I've been overly washing my face with foam washes. Currently I have dry itchy and flaky patches on my face which look and feel burnt. I blame myself mostly because my skin does not like too much of anything unless its cream related (even olive oil burns and stings my facial skin). So yeah this may no longer be my hg, how sad (I have spare bottle perhaps using it solely for my eyes with a cotton bud will be the best use :( ...).

So have you found your HG eye makeup removing product?
What are your thoughts about this product if you own it?
Have I convinced you to give it a try, or a miss ;)?
